Our school champions took on the rest of the South West in the regional glider competition. They came a very impressive 6th out of all of the schools. Incredible effort and fantastic engineering team Iron Acton!

We’d like to thank the ladies of St James the Less Church and all of the parent helpers for a wonderful Christingle Service. All of the children thoroughly enjoyed making their christingles and the service was beautiful.

We had a fantastic time with our friends at Hawkesbury watching the nativity, performed by Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. We left feeling very festive!

On Tuesday Kestrels became detectives. People were missing from their homes! By the end of the visit the children had solved the mystery. People had travelled to Bethlehem, where Mary had had a baby boy who was named Jesus.

Gloucestershire Cricket Club came in to play cricket with Kestrels and Falcons.

Mindfulness club started this week. We had a very relaxing time concentrating on our breathing and walking. We made boats out of bricks and placed them on our bodies to see them rise and fall with our breath whilst breathing smoothly and trying not to let them topple over. We then walked slowly, taking notice of  every muscle, sensation, weight and movement as we took each step. It was a truly calming experience.

You may have noticed that the pots at the front of school look bright and colourful again. This is due to some excellent colour choices from some of our Year 1 children when they visited the garden centre this week. Thank you Year 1!

All of the children had the opportunity to visit the building site in the village last week. They heard all about site safety, got to look around one of the houses and asked questions of site manager Paul to find out how about all of the jobs involved in building a house.
