At the beginning of the year, the children, teachers and teaching assistants agree on a class contract, which ensures that everyone involved works hard to create the best possible learning environment.
Children are given opportunities to experience and discuss their learning, which results in a healthy and productive ‘buzz’ across the school.
As well as this, the physical learning environment is used to celebrate the children’s learning and provide support and stimulus to the children in their learning. The physical learning environment might include display boards and tables, reflection areas and the outdoor learning space.
We encourage the children to make full use of the outdoor learning areas around the school. One of our teachers is fully qualified in teaching Forest Schools. We have a growing area, a pond and wildlife area as well as extensive outdoor grounds which are used all year round for play, physical education and other learning opportunities.
