Spring Welly Walk

Another successful Spring Welly Walk! Thank you to all the parents helpers and the Friends for putting on an eggscellent Easter Egg Hunt.

During our learning about the Ancient Egyptians, we discovered the mummification process. We were so fascinated (and a little disgusted) that we wanted to try out the process ourselves! After scooping out the ‘guts’ of the orange and drying it out with paper towels, we used a mixture of bicarbonate of soda and salt to make natron and added cinnamon and cloves. We then wrapped our oranges tightly in bandages and left them in a warm dry place. The photos show the the unwrapping and results!

Eagles Bristol Museum – Design Challenge

As part of our learning for STEM Week, Eagles class took on a design challenge to create new souvenirs for the Egyptians Exhibit at the Bristol Museum. They were put into teams and given a brief to follow. They created their own logos for their team and collaborated to create a range of t-shirts and key rings. Lastly, they presented their work to the rest of the class with interesting and exciting product descriptions. As you can see, the results are fabulous! Well done Eagles!

Yate International Academy Science Taster

Eagles class were invited to Yate International Academy for a science taster lesson. They proudly represented our school and all enjoyed their time in the laboratory. We may have some budding scientists in the making!
