Year 5 and 6 had a fantastic time at Morfa Bay during this year’s residential trip. We took part in activities such as rock climbing, abseiling, muddy assault course, bush craft, orienteering, sea activities and many more! A brilliant time was had by both pupils and staff alike.

On Wednesday, in conjunction with our Outdoor Learning Day, Eagles and Golden joined together for an unusual spelling lesson. We thought of a variety of words and used the natural resources of the school to spell them. We all really enjoyed our time spent outside, and will continue to take our learning outdoors!

During Anti-Bullying Week, Eagles and Golden Eagles teamed up with the pupils at our partnership school in Hawkesbury for an assembly run by Unique Voice. We discussed the different types of bullying that can happen, why bullying may start, and how we can resolve it. Then we got the chance to get to know each other a little better through a fact finding game, discovering each others hidden talents – there were even a couple of people that could eat with chopsticks! We had a great morning, and are looking forward to seeing our new friends at Hawkesbury again soon.

Our first Welly Walk of the year! We got suitably muddy and had a fantastic time.

Mindfulness club started this week. We had a very relaxing time concentrating on our breathing and walking. We made boats out of bricks and placed them on our bodies to see them rise and fall with our breath whilst breathing smoothly and trying not to let them topple over. We then walked slowly, taking notice of  every muscle, sensation, weight and movement as we took each step. It was a truly calming experience.

Children in Eagles class had a wonderful trip to Berkeley Castle this week. The children learnt all about living in a castle as a Tudor. We had a guided tour of the castle, took part in a drawbridge building workshop and even got to dress up as Tudors.

We were thrilled to welcome ‘Be There Badger’ to our attendance assembly last week. He came along to remind the children about how important it is to be in school every day and on time. He helped give out attendance awards to children who had achieved 100% attendance. Thank you for coming along Badger; well done to all those children who received awards for their outstanding attendance!
