Music Day

This week we had an amazing day of music. We were pleased to welcome music expert Emily and African drummer and dancer Rubba. The children were involved in music activities all day. Our Year 5 and 6 children also went on a visit to Brimsham to see The Tempest. What a busy week it has been – but it has great. Well done Iron Acton!

First week back

Well done to all children and staff for such a positive first week back. We had an amazing languages day yesterday led by Mrs Detzler. Each class learnt about a different country: Mexico, Ivory Coast, Japan & Italy. We shared our learning with parents at the end of the day. This launches our new languages approach for the year ahead.

Year 1 visit the garden centre

You may have noticed that the pots at the front of school look bright and colourful again. This is due to some excellent colour choices from some of our Year 1 children when they visited the garden centre this week. Thank you Year 1!

Garden Centre visit

Thank you to some of our fantastic Eagles class children who chose some great plants for the front of school. We hope they will keep the school looking bright and colourful all through winter.

A special visitor

We were thrilled to welcome ‘Be There Badger’ to our attendance assembly last week. He came along to remind the children about how important it is to be in school every day and on time. He helped give out attendance awards to children who had achieved 100% attendance. Thank you for coming along Badger; well done to all those children who received awards for their outstanding attendance!

Samba drumming

As part of our Amazon rain forest topic, we are taking part in Samba drumming lessons every Tuesday. The children have been working hard to learn different rhythms. We hope to preform our learning next term.
