We were thrilled to welcome ‘Be There Badger’ to our attendance assembly last week. He came along to remind the children about how important it is to be in school every day and on time. He helped give out attendance awards to children who had achieved 100% attendance. Thank you for coming along Badger; well done to all those children who received awards for their outstanding attendance!

We A massive well done to all of the children (and staff!!) for making such an effort during poetry week. We had a great time during our celebration assembly last Friday, sharing all of the amazing learning that had been going on across the school. There were some lovely caterpillars made by reception, some fab innovated poetry by Year 1 and Falcons did an amazing job of reciting and acting out some poetry with a real comical twist! The older children also shared poems that they had been reading about the rainforest and Year 6 shared their very own published poetry. Well done Iron Acton!

We were very lucky to have a visit from the Explorer Dome earlier this year to celebrate Science Week! Each class really enjoyed taking part in the fantastic science shows that were based on the topics they have been learning about in class last term. Kestrels enjoyed learning about the environment, Falcons discovered more about forces and Eagles loved learning more about habitats and adaptation. There was plenty of excitement and lively discussions, as well as hands-on experiments and demonstrations during the shows that caused quite a stir as you can see from the pictures below!
