Falcons class went to visit the Roman Fortress and Baths at Caerleon this week to enrich our learning on our current topic. We visited the baths and discovered how the Romans used them for hygiene, exercise and relaxation. They even had under-floor heating! Iron Acton played the first tag rugby match of the season against our partnership school, and arch rivals, Hawkesbury Upton. The children worked incredibly hard on a dark, cold December afternoon and came away with their heads held high, losing by just a few tries. The try of the match came from Theo, as he finished off a fine Iron Acton spell of possession at the start of the second half. Well done to all the children involved and thank you to the parents who came along to show your support. We look forward to more sports events after the Christmas break.
